Statement of Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich On The Federal Court Ruling on Campaign Finance Reform Bill

Today, a federal court struck down most of a ban on the use of large corporate and union political contributions by political parties.
After the ruling Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) issued the following statement:
"This is a set back for the much needed reform of our campaign finance system. We must remove the fat cat political donors and their influential lobbyists from the system. Banning soft money is an important first step in this process. Today is yet another reminder of why, to truly return government to the people, we need publicly financed campaigns."
