Message from Chellie: Getting Foreclosure Help

If you're facing foreclosure, there is hope.  Learn more about the resources in Maine you can take advantage of.

Foreclosure resources | Contact my office for assistance

chellie with constituents.jpgIt's hard to imagine something worse than the threat of losing the home you worked so hard to own and maintain.  But tragically, because of the worst economic downturn since the Depression too many Mainers are in this position.  Good, hard-working people are trying everything they can to stay in their homes, willing to do whatever it takes to make their mortgage payments despite the loss of a job or the sickness of a family member.

Here's a page of resources for people in danger of losing their homes, including free counseling services, refinancing programs, hotlines, and more--I hope you take a look at it.   And if you, your family or neighbors are getting the runaround from the banks or feel like you're being mistreated, please fill in your information on this online form and a member of my staff will give you a call to follow up, or contact my Portland office directly at 774-5019 or toll-free at 1-888-862-6500.

The economic crisis has dragged on longer than anyone has liked, but this is one storm you don't have to weather alone. Let's get Maine people back to work and let's keep Maine families in their hard-earned homes.

Hope to see you in Maine soon,
Chellie
