Congresswoman Chellie Pingree's statement on retirement of Supreme Court Justice

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree made the following statement after Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens announced that he plans to retire at the end of June:

Justice Stevens leaves an honorable legacy of protecting the rights of all members of society.  His 35 years of upholding the law on the nation’s highest court have been an incredible service. I hope the President and Senate will act quickly to bring a new justice to the bench who will carry on that legacy and commitment.
