4th District Issues

Healthcare

Providing affordable health care to citizens of the Fourth District is a major priority of mine. In my opinion, too many people are without insurance; while those who do have healthcare coverage continually see their premium payments increase. Meanwhile, small businesses are having a difficult time finding the funds necessary to offer healthcare to their employees.

On March 21, 2010, the House of Representatives approved H.R. 3950, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act by a vote of 219-212. I vote NO on this legislation.

On November 7, 2009, the House of Representatives approved H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act by a vote of 220-215. I voted NO on this legislation.

On December 24, 2009, the Senate approved, H.R. 3590, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act by a vote of 60-39, with 1 not voting.
