TUCSON - U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords on Saturday will host an Economic Stimulus Forum for state, county and municipal leaders in Southern Arizona.
The two-hour forum will provide elected and appointed officials with the latest information on economic stimulus legislation that will soon come before Congress.
Giffords will provide an overview of the legislation as it now stands, including possible provisions for the federal government to fund local infrastructure projects.
Attending will be officials from Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Green Valley, Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Douglas, Willcox, Sahuarita, Tubac, Patagonia, Huachuca City, Santa Cruz County, the School Facilities Board, the offices of Gov. Janet Napolitano and Secretary of State Jan Brewer, and the state departments of transportation and commerce.
