Washington, D.C., Jul 17, 2008 -

Now that we’ve had a chance to settle in from the Fourth of July district work period, I wanted to share some of my experience with you. It was a pleasure to be able to attend the 24th annual Naturalization Ceremony at the Seattle Center. Click here to see the coverage from KIRO TV. To be able to see the pride of the immigrants who waited and became citizens through the proper process, was a moment where I was proud to live in a country where we are free to pursue our dreams. It was a truly moving event.

I was also able to meet with Mayors from many of the cities in the 8th District. I heard about all the struggles from budget to infrastructure that our cities are facing and I remain committed to helping them and my constituents.

As always, it was a nice to see everyone around town. Hope you had a safe and peaceful independence day. If you didn’t have a chance already, click here to view my message to veterans.
