Tucson lawmaker's week includes riding in the Rodeo Parade, hosting a town hall meeting and visiting Willcox to announce legislation creating the National Day of the Cowboy
U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords kicks off a busy district work period on Saturday by addressing a meeting of the Arizona Society of Anesthesiologists and the Annual Pan Asian Lunar New Year Celebration Dinner.
The Tucson lawmakers' week of public appearances includes riding in the Rodeo Parade, hosting a town hall meeting on the economic stimulus package, and visiting Willcox to announce legislation designating July 26 as the National Day of the Cowboy.
Giffords also plans to visit a public housing complex for seniors and the disabled where she will call on the Social Security Administration to address unacceptable delays in processing disability applications.
Wednesday's town hall will take place at a volunteer tax assistance clinic. It will provide a detailed explanation of the $168 billion package, including the steps taxpayers need to take in order to qualify for their rebate check from the Internal Revenue Service. Following the town hall will be a four-hour tax clinic at which individuals or families earning less than $40,000 annually can receive free tax preparation assistance.
