Congressman Platts Receives "Guardian of Small Business Award"

WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Todd Platts (PA-19) was awarded the “Guardian of Small Business Award” from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for his support of legislation and policies critical to ensuring the success of small businesses across the country.

“In the 111th Congress, Congressman Platts proved that he is a champion of small business,” the NFIB said in a statement. “The Guardian of Small Business Award is a token of the deep appreciation that small business owners have for elected officials who promote and protect their right to own, operate and grow their businesses.”

“Small businesses play a vital role in creating jobs and growing the economy,” said Congressman Platts. “Current economic conditions are presenting severe challenges for small businesses throughout the 19th Congressional District and one of my top priorities is to provide these businesses the opportunity to flourish and help strengthen our economy.”

NFIB is a business association representing small and independent businesses across the United States. Founded in 1943, NFIB’s mission is to promote and protect the rights of their members to own, operate and grow their businesses.

Congressman Platts was previously awarded the “Guardian of Small Business Award” for his voting record during the 110th Congress and previous sessions of Congress.  He has also been consistently awarded the “Spirit of Enterprise Award” from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his support of pro-growth policies.
