"During my recent trip to Afghanistan and Pakistan, I felt a great deal of admiration and appreciation for the work being done by General Stanley McChrystal and the soldiers under his command.  However, in light of his recent remarks, I respect the decision of the President to accept the General's resignation and have full faith in the ability of General David Petraeus.  As we move forward, our attention should be on clarity of mission in the region and full financial support for our soldiers in the fight."
