Wilmington | July 15, 2010 - Delaware's Congressional delegation wants Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to make developing offshore wind energy a federal priority.

Senators Carper and Kaufman and Congressman Castle Wednesday joined 6 other lawmakers in sending a letter to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar requesting his department explore the possibility of setting up a special office dedicated to offshore wind and other forms of renewable energy.

New Jersey-based NRG Bluewater Wind is planning to build a wind farm off Rehoboth Beach.
