The First Congressional District of Oklahoma is home to 700,000 citizens. The people of Oklahoma share a common bond of a hard working, pioneering spirit and an uncompromised commitment to faith and family. 


Oklahoma’s First Congressional District includes Tulsa, Washington and Wagoner counties, in addition to portions of Creek and Rogers County.

Once known as the Oil Capital of the World, Tulsa has continued to use its greatest resource - its people - to become a player in the today’s global economy.

This entrepreneurial spirit of First District citizens is evident by the growth in industries such as telecommunications, aerospace, financial services and energy.

These industries are supported by a number of institutes of higher learning, such as the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Oral Roberts University, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, Tulsa Community College, Northeastern Oklahoma State University-Broken Arrow, and the University of Oklahoma-Schusterman Campus.

Bartlesville, located 40 miles north of Tulsa, is a community historically tied to the energy industry. Once home to the corporate offices of one of the world’s energy leaders, Conoco-Phillips, Bartlesville continues to thrive on energy sector jobs. Conoco-Phillips recently expanded its workforce and attributes this increase to Oklahoma’s quality of life.

Wagoner County, southeast of Tulsa, is home to 60,000 hard working Oklahomans. Comprised of many family-owned farms and ranches, Wagoner County continues to thrive in today’s global economy.
