Error Messages

The most common problems reported after the IBM Viewer software is installed are related to the configuration on your computer or permissions.  It is also important that you keep your computer drivers and applications up to date when working with the IBM software.

Failure to launch can not find viewer

The IBM Viewer software has been removed or corrupted.  Reinstall the software to resolve the problem.

IBM has encountered a problem and needs to close

The IBM Viewer software has been corrupted.  Reinstall the software to resolve the problem.

You have a previous version of the IBM Workplace Forms Viewer installed on your computer.  You must uninstall this previous version before installing a newer one.

This message is displayed if you downloaded the install on your desktop and try to use it to open the software after it’s installed.  The install does not create a shortcut on the desktop after it’s installed.  You should delete the shortcut. And open the software from the start/programs/ menu or by opening a form.

An error has occurred

The program PE_URL could either not be found

This message may occur if you are trying to use the IBM software from a network drive.  The required configuration is to install it on the local drive.

A save file operation was not successful.  The file may be read only, access to the file may be restricted, or the disk may be full or non-writable.  Please try again.

This message is displayed if you do not have write permissions to the location where you are trying to save your form.  Please see your IT Administrator to resolve this issue.

Printer Driver's EndPage() Failed at PRINT ERROR(.\src\FormViewer\PrintEngine\CPrintEngine.cpp:1834

This message is related to the print driver installed on your computer.  Check for updates from the printer’s manufacturer.

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.  Sorry for the inconvenience... app name iexplore.exe.

This message occurs if Internet Explorer becomes corrupted.  You must repair or remove and re-install the application to resolve the problem.
