Error Messages

The most common problems that occur when you are downloading or installing the IBM Workplace Viewer are related to permissions.  Listed below are solutions to error messages that have been reported from filers:

Problem inserting data into db

Microsoft ODBCSQL server drive sql server

This message occurs if you have entered special characters or a very long name in the registrant name field on the Forms and Software page.  To correct it, shorten the registrant name to less than 50 characters and make sure the name does not contain any special characters.

Page load error

This message is sometimes displayed if you are being restricted from downloading the IBM Viewer software by your network.  Please see your IT Administrator to resolve the issue. 

Download is corrupted

This message is displays if you downloaded the software install from our website unsuccessfully.  To correct it, download the software again.  If the download is not successful a second time, you may not have write permissions on the folder you are trying to save the file to.  Please see your IT Administrator to resolve this issue.  If they are not able to download the file successfully you can request an install CD from the Legislative Resource Center.

The system cannot find the path specified

This message is displayed when the installation files are extracted and you do not have access rights to the local folder under your Windows profile.  Please see your IT Administrator to resolve this issue

error message (7020)

This message may occur if you are trying to install the software on Citrix.  The required configuration is to install it on the local drive.

An error occurred during the move data process: -2147024891

This message is displayed when the application is being installed and you do not have the proper access rights to install new software.  Please see your IT Administrator to resolve this issue

Catastrophic error messages:

Catastrophic errors have been known to occur if a driver has been corrupted, your virus software is restricting the installation, or if there are problems with the computer’s configuration:

Other messages

Try adjusting the settings on your virus protection to allow the IBM software to run.

Please contact the Legislative Resource Center and request technical support.  There is an additional install from IBM that will fix this problem. 

at dispatch invoke

This error is displayed if the user profile is corrupted.  Please see your IT Administrator to troubleshoot this issue.  The only known resolution at this time is to delete the current user profile and create a new one.

An error has occurred:

Internal function call failed

Set-up failed to initialize

Copy file failed

Copy file notice file failed

Any of these error messages may be displayed if the user who is trying to install the software does not have write permissions on the program folder.  Please see your IT Administrator to resolve this issue
