Price Applauds House Republican Earmark Ban

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House Republican Conference adopted a resolution offered by Representative-elect Sean Duffy (R-WI) to ban earmarks in the House during the 112th Congress.

“Americans asked Congress to get rid of earmarks, and Republicans have listened,” said Congressman Price. “For too long, earmarks have had a corrupting effect and greased the wheels for bloated spending bills to become law. The Republicans’ earmark ban will help focus the next Congress on cutting spending and conducting vigorous oversight over where taxpayer money goes. Our work to get Washington back on the path to a balanced budget has only just begun.”
