Price: “Americans Should Not Pay Another Dime for Stimulus Propaganda”
Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement supporting the latest YouCut proposal selected by the American people. This week’s selection would prohibit funding for any additional “stimulus” signs, require agencies to report on the amount already spent on signs, and recapture those funds for taxpayers by reducing the agencies’ administrative expenses by an equal amount. The savings would be applied to reducing the deficit.
“The Obama administration’s supposed dedication to transparency does not extend to the cost of these signs, but reports indicate tens of millions of dollars may have been spent,” said Congressman Price. “On what planet is this a good use of taxpayer money? These propaganda pieces are just trying to compensate for the failure of the Democrats’ $862 billion boondoggle. Such wasteful absurdities are precisely why Americans are enthusiastically embracing Republican efforts to cut spending. Reducing the deficit by the cost of these signs would do more to boost confidence in our economy than the signs ever have. Americans should not pay another dime for stimulus propaganda.”
