The President’s Policies Are Hurting Small Business
Following President Obama’s remarks to the press today about his latest government-centric small business initiatives, Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) pointed out the stress placed on America’s job creators by the policies of the President and Congressional Democrats.
“The President talks a good game on promoting small business, but the reality and his rhetoric are miles apart,” said Congressman Price. “Expensive insurance mandates, tax increases, higher energy costs, tax credits that push companies not to hire, and widespread uncertainty about future policies and debt – which of these is supposed to help small businesses grow? The burdens of the Democrats’ job-killing agenda far outweigh any limited benefits of another bureaucracy-laden lending program. Dynamic economies dependent on government largesse just do not exist.
“Democrats have created an environment in which expanding one’s business does not make sense for many employers. Washington needs to get out of the way and stop being an obstacle to growth. More competitive tax policies, fewer bureaucratic mandates, and a halt to this skyrocketing debt will give job creators the ability and the confidence to grow once more.”
