Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to reports that American taxpayers could be forced to send more than $50 billion to bailout the Euro and overly-indebted European nations.

“The bailout brigade in Washington just can’t stop, can it?” said Congressman Price. “There is no way American taxpayers should fork over $50 billion for EuroTARP. Backstopping these economies will only prolong the problems gripping the continent. Our friends in Europe are getting an unfortunate real world lesson on the downsides of uncontrolled spending and debt, but they aren’t the only ones who need to learn it. The United States is on the exact same path of unsustainable deficits and skyrocketing debt. Instead of sending $50 billion to bailout other countries, Washington needs to cut spending and use every spare dime to pay off our own debt.”
