FCC Makes Blatant and Fraudulent Power Grab

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement regarding the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) latest attempt to force “net neutrality” rules onto the American people.

“The FCC’s plan to reclassify the Internet under a telephone system regulation is as insidious as it is ridiculous,” said Congressman Price. “This is a blatant and fraudulent power grab by the Obama administration to pave the way for net neutrality. The courts have already said they have no authority to impose net neutrality rules on the Internet, but the rule of law is apparently no obstacle to their desire to seize private property and undercut free enterprise. It seems there is no area of the economy or our everyday lives safe from the heavy-hand of Democrats and the federal bureaucracy. The Internet is a unique and nimble arena with enormous capacity for innovation. Net neutrality makes a mockery of property rights and will do tremendous harm to the potential for future growth and investment.”
