Day of Prayer a Time to Remember Our Blessings
Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in observation of the National Day of Prayer on May 6, 2010.
“Today, people all across this great land will come together in peaceful observation of the National Day of Prayer,” said Congressman Price. “This is a time to take stock of all that we cherish and be mindful of all the blessings that God has given to us as Americans. And as always, our thoughts and prayers should be with the men and women who protect us by serving in law enforcement, as first responders, and in our Armed Forces.
“Americans are a diverse people, yet we remain united by our shared belief in the value of constitutional government and that our liberty comes from God almighty. America’s leaders have issued calls for days of prayer and reflection since our nation’s founding. The National Day of Prayer is in total accord with the Constitution’s protection of religious freedom, and the recent ruling by a federal judge finding it unconstitutional is simply outrageous. I once again strongly urge President Obama to direct the Department of Justice to vigorously pursue an appeal of this ruling.”
