Price Calls on FAA to Listen to Local Residents
Congressman Tom Price (GA-06) issued the following statement regarding the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) proposal to lower the floor for airspace over Peachtree-DeKalb Airport. Local residents have raised concerns that lowering the height at which air traffic can maneuver in the area would have a negative affect on the surrounding communities including increased noise.
“It is imperative that any changes made to the air traffic patterns in the area are not done at the expense of the quality of life for local residents,” said Congressman Price. “I appreciate our neighbors and community leaders raising their concerns with the FAA. I am hopeful this discussion will be resolved in a manner that respects and balances the needs of local residents as well as the air traffic safety needs of recreational and commercial aviators.”
NOTE: Congressman Price sent a letter to FAA Administrator J. Randolph Babbitt requesting that the concerns of local citizens be thoroughly considered when making any decisions regarding local airspace.
