White House Rhetoric Toward Israel Encourages Others to Pile On

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to reports that Jordan, Israel’s neighbor in the Middle East, has followed the Obama Administration’s lead in raising the rhetoric against Israel.

“This administration’s heightened rhetoric toward Israel, our nation’s strongest ally in the Middle East, is only serving to encourage other nations to raise the bar with their own vocal criticism,” said Congressman Price. “When Israel has to question America’s commitment to support its security and well-being, other world leaders will begin to do the same and find opportunities to exacerbate an already tense situation. It is deeply troubling to see the misguided statements of the White House parroted by other leaders within the region. America must not be providing through our actions implicit support for the type of provocation that will only serve to set the peace process back and foster instability.”
