Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to reports that Democrats will continue to pursue an unpopular government takeover of health care via the budget reconciliation process.

“Democrat leaders have clearly lost touch with the American people,” said Congressman Price. “Americans have serious objections to this plan that will give government control over our health care decisions. Instead of trying to understand the groundswell of opposition to their takeover, Democrats are attempting to pound it through with an iron fist. They continue to exhibit the same ‘Washington knows best’ attitude that prompted widespread concern about this bill in the first place. Such iron-fisted abuses of power are the last gasp of desperate rulers. If Democrats truly intend to ignore the will of the public, they had best be prepared for the coming backlash.”
