Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in support of the discharge petition for H.Res. 847, the “Sunshine Resolution,” which would let the public into the room for the Democrats’ closed-door health care negotiations.

“The kickbacks, buyoffs, and bribes have got to go,” said Congressman Price. “Republicans stand firmly with the American people in demanding that the sun be allowed to shine on the shady deals being made behind closed doors by Democrats, union bosses, and other special interests. The Democrats’ drive for a government takeover of health care is simply out of control. We need more sunshine and public scrutiny to prevent Americans from getting rolled by the Democrats and their special interest allies. As every American would be affected by this government takeover of health care, every American should be allowed to see the ugly details. If the Democrats ignore the Sunshine Resolution, they are ignoring the will of the American people.”
