  • Once again I'm saddened that all you can do is resort to fear tactics to try and help slow this up. You refused to have a public town hall, and send out copy/paste e-mails to your constituents who try to talk with you... I have no faith in you as a representative for our district. Another congressman in the pocket of big insurance and pharmaceuticals.

  • As opposed to some government lackey who will decide what coverage I might be "entitiled" to depending on whether I live my life up to "their" standards. We can reform the industry to make insurance co's handle things better without giving up all freedom to the government twits who won't even go on this plan themselves. No, they get to keep their taxpayer-funded golden insurance. They can all go jump in a lake, Dems and Repubs alike.

  • Do you realize that your entire comment was nothing but name calling without any substance at all. Please educate yourself. The health insurance has over 5,000,000 dollars a year to brainwash the public and it's working just fine.

  • With 47,000,000 people uninsured, and losing your insurance when you lose your job and millions of employers dropping health care coverage by the day and over half of all bankruptcies caused by hospital bills I'd don't know how you figure this country has the best access. Insurance rates have been going up 10 to 20% for years. About a quarter of that is because hospitals have to raise the prices because of lossed incurred by the uninsured.

  • I've traveled and lived abroad for years, and disagree completely. American expats I know feel the same way. The US has some great technology and docs, but that can't be the only measure of a system. We pay 2X what others pay, we don't live any longer, and we leave 50 million Americans without any coverage. Right now a bureaucrat at an insurance company who is paid a bonus to restrict coverage stands between me and my doctor. That's not a system we should be protecting.

  • The health care industry is putting over $500 Million and 600 lobbyists to oppose real healthcare reform. We pay 2X what other countries do and they cover 100% of their citizens who live as long as Americans. Since 1994 the percentage of premiums paid out for medical services dropped from 95% to 80%. Insurance companies are unregulated as the investment banks that caused the financial crisis. If Reichert approach wins, invest in health care co's who will be the big winners.

  • "Constitutional right." Your kidding right? Go read it again and you might change your tune. By the way "Life, Liberty, and Happiness," pretty sure the life part applies to the right of healthcare for all. You can still pay out the nose for what you have now, so drop the talking points. Big gov, freedom, privacy, blah blah blah. Stop watching FOX and learn about the real world.

  • Two way conversations are fine, but the Republican party isn't taking this issue seriously. Look at the funds the big Pharmacy and Health Co.'s have pumped into their campaigns. "Healthcare Professions" jumped up on Dave's donations list this year. I could care less if you are left or right, there is a fundamental problem with anti-trust status for the healthcare companies, no competition and pandering to business not your voters. And your are free to disagree.

  • He is NOT an insult to me! He speaks for me and many people who don't fall into line behind the blinded democratic majority. Someone needs to speak for the other side. I think Dave has real guts to say what the rest of us think. Just because we don't agree with your side, doesn't mean we are wrong. And, by the way, we DO have the best healthcare system in the world. It's the insurance industry that needs the reform.

  • I guess anyone who doesn't agree with you or any of the Dems is wrong. That's the problem! Talk about puppets! What about people who go along with proposed plans that are not well thought out just because the president and the Democratic majority (I almost said monopoly) say it's good. You are not thinking for yourself. Darcy is a nice lady, but she is also a Dem. You guys just can't stand 2-way discussions. Someone has to stand up for the rest of us!!!
