Price Says Keep the Earmark Moratorium in Place
Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in support of a proposal by Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) to continue the House Republican moratorium on earmarks in the 112th Congress and expand it to include all Members of the House. Price has long abstained from earmarking and is a vocal supporter of reforming the way Congress spends taxpayer money.
“The earmarking process is corrupt and corrupting,” said Congressman Price. “Fundamental budget reform is imperative in order to restore the trust of the American people. Members of Congress need to focus on spending less, so we can get on the path to a balanced budget.”
