Employers See Higher Costs in ObamaCare

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s speech in Iowa today.

“Employers as varied as John Deere, Verizon, Caterpillar, Honeywell International, ski resorts, and medical device manufacturers have already announced that this government takeover will drive up their costs,” said Congressman Price. “The Democrats’ plan punishes families and those who create jobs with trillions of dollars in new spending, taxes, and debt while incentivizing many small and large businesses to drop their employees’ insurance coverage. Health reform shouldn’t mean wrecking our economy and upending Americans’ access to the coverage they enjoy.

“While the President alleged that repealing and replacing his takeover of health care would ‘put the insurance industry back in the driver’s seat,’ he is absolutely wrong. Our plan gives power to patients and families, while the Democrats’ new law puts Washington in charge.

“The need for patient-centered reform is greater now than ever. Conservatives will work to repeal costly, job-killing policies and start anew with common sense solutions that respect patients and won’t send job creators running for the hills.”
