Health Care
The Obama Administration and the Democrat led Congress are moving forward with a $1 trillion plan to nationalize our healthcare system.  Regardless of the fact that  91 percent of Americans have health insurance, and 84 percent of whom rate the quality of their insurance as excellent or good, this plan would take away your ability to choose the healthcare plan that best fits your needs, and would force you to buy government approved insurance.

We can all agree that our healthcare system is in need of reform, but it must ensure that medical decisions are made by patients and their doctors, not government bureaucrats and it must be done in an open an honest process.

Congress must reform the system to control costs, make health care coverage more affordable and prevent any insurance company from denying coverage to anyone for a pre-existing condition.  Americans who like their healthcare coverage should able to keep it, and have the freedom to choose the health plan that best fits their needs.  We must also focus on effective prevention, wellness and disease management programs, while developing treatments for life threatening diseases.

As a Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over healthcare issues, I am working in Congress to implement real solutions to our healthcare system that will control costs, give patients choices and make healthcare more affordable for all Americans.  To learn more about my views on health reform click here.
