Sullivan Honored as Energy Advocate of the Year

Washington, Nov 15 - Today, Congressman John Sullivan was honored to accept the “Energy Advocate of the Year” award by the Energy Policy Conference and Energy Advocates Organization.  Sullivan offered the following statement after receiving the award today at the Petroleum Club in Tulsa.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized as the energy advocate of the year by my friends at The Energy Advocates.  I understand the energy problems we face, but I also understand how to solve them –I will continue leading the charge in Congress for a comprehensive “All of the Above” energy policy that takes advantage of the resources we have here at home to finally reduce our nation’s dependence on imported foreign oil and secure our nation’s energy future.  It’s time to stop paying lip service to our growing energy problems and to put some common sense into practice to get it done – it’s in our economic and national security interest to get moving now.”

“The 112th Congress will face some significant challenges in our push to achieve energy security, such as reigning in the Obama Administration’s job killing national energy taxes, and a rogue, out of control EPA that is determined to continue targeting the oil, gas and coal industries though implementing punitive regulations that will hurt our economy and our energy industry.

My House Republican colleagues and I will continue to stand strong and deliver on our pledge to America – an “All of the Above” energy policy is a critical step toward putting Americans back to work and getting our economy moving again.”
