Assistance with a Federal Agency

I receive thousands of requests for help resolving problems with our nations' various government agencies. We handle these requests through our District Office in Tulsa.

Working with the residents of the 1st District to achieve resolution in their cases with federal agencies is a top priority for my staff and me. While we cannot demand that an agency change its rules or determine matters in favor of our constituents, we can make certain that each individual situation receives full consideration in an appropriate and timely manner.

If you are a resident of the 1st District, and need assistance with a federal agency, please feel free to contact my Tulsa Office. I know how frustrating and time consuming it can be to attempt to contact a particular person within an agency in order to get resolution to your problem. We can make inquiries for you once we have authorization from you in writing.

Guidelines for Congressional Assistance with Federal Agencies:

To receive congressional assistance with a federal agency, I will need to have your written permission.

  • Once I have received your written permission, the federal agency will be contacted on your behalf.
  • A written response should be received from the agency within 30-60 days. This is a standard guideline and may vary for each individual case.
  • When the agency's response is received, you will receive notification from my office by phone or letter.
  • If you have an ongoing claim, further information may be requested from the agency on your behalf.

Things You Should Know

According to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, my office cannot act as an attorney or offer legal assistance in any way. Information concerning attorney referral services is available upon request.

My jurisdiction as a United States Congressman does not extend to programs and other matters governed by the departments of the State of Oklahoma.

While I will always do my best to assist you, please remember that federal agencies have discretion concerning decisions on individual cases.
