Reichert Statement on Earth Day 2010

Washington, Apr 22 - Congressman Dave Reichert (WA-08) made the following statement recognizing Earth Day 2010:

“As America observes Earth Day, Washington State can take special pride in the resources we care for and enjoy. Our state has a long tradition of preserving its natural resources, and together we continue working to preserve them for future generations. We all have a stake today in the world we’ll leave our children and grandchildren to enjoy. That’s why I’m the proud sponsor of legislation to expand the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area, and to designate the Middle Fork Snoqualmie and Pratt Rivers as wild and scenic – a proposal that has now passed the House of Representatives. I urge the Senate to join the House in passing this legislation to preserve these precious resources right here in Washington’s backyard.”
