Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement calling on Democrats to bring forth a clean supplemental troop funding bill without any further delay. Democrats failed to send a war supplemental bill to the President’s desk prior to the July 4 recess.

“It is a sad state of affairs when billions of dollars in bailouts and other unrelated spending take precedence over the nation’s security and the needs of our men and women in uniform,” said Congressman Price. “The Democrats’ insistence on adding layer upon layer of unrelated spending to what should be a troop-funding bill has only delayed action on getting needed resources for our Armed Forces. This failure to pass a clean war supplemental before the Pentagon’s deadline is simply irresponsible. Our military has been waiting for months now. How much longer will Democrats hold in limbo these necessary resources for our war fighters? The clock is ticking. Every day they continue to delay puts an even greater burden on our military. I call on my Democrat colleagues to join Republicans in passing a clean troop-funding bill as soon as possible.”
