Nine Years Later, We Remember September 11
Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement recognizing the ninth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on American soil.
“Nine years later, we remember September 11 and the innocents who were murdered that day,” said Congressman Price. “The horrific events left an indelible mark on this country that will never be forgotten. But even in the toughest of times, we see the selfless actions of people like the first responders who went into the Twin Towers knowing the danger to their own lives.
“As we remember those who died that day, we also remember the men and women who have given their lives to defend us against further attacks. This country is safer today because of their actions. The United States remains at war with al Qaeda and its terrorist allies, and we must continue to give our troops the time and support they need.
“The September 11 terrorist attacks took the lives of 3,000 Americans and tested our fortitude as a nation. Yet we refused to be cowed by al Qaeda, and our ability to rise back up from the rubble is a testament to the incredible inner strength of the American people. Our blessings remain great, and the promise of our country continues to shine forth.”
