Democrats Rely on Failed Liberal Economic Experiment
Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement after today’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) announcement.
“Over a year ago, the Administration and their allies in Congress pledged that their $862 billion ‘stimulus’ package would spark robust job creation and put our fellow citizens back to work,” said Congressman Price. “The failure of that liberal economic experiment can be seen in the faces of millions of our neighbors who have been left behind in this economy. Today’s news will do little to assuage the concerns of those families.
“Meanwhile, Congressional Democrats refuse to abandon their job-killing, big government agenda. They turned a cold shoulder to our nation’s job creators when they pursued a government takeover of health care that raises the tax burden on small businesses, saddles them with new mandates, and ignores the short-term and long-term consequences of a rampant debt-inducing expansion of the federal government. They now insist that financial regulatory reform should be built on the premise of perpetual bailouts for Wall Street at the expense of taxpayers on Main Street. Putting more Americans back to work means dropping these impediments to job growth and once again embracing the principles of free enterprise that have been the foundation of our nation’s prosperity.”
