Seniors

Congressman Reichert has fought to protect seniors’ Medicare and Social Security benefits, preserve their access to needed health care services, and make prescription drugs more affordable.

§         Opposed legislation that would have cut Medicare health plans for more than 100,000 Washington State seniors and reduced access to home health benefits, oxygen equipment, and dialysis treatment.

§         Supported additional funding to help seniors’ enroll in the Medicare prescription drug benefit while opposing legislation that would have increased the cost of prescription drugs for seniors and veterans.

§         Supported legislation ensuring that seniors’ receive care from certified, credible care-givers; that they do not have to overcome unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles to receive therapy for chronic conditions; and that preserves their access to rehabilitation services.
