Congressman Dan Boren

Now that November 2nd has come and gone, Andrea and I would like to say thank you to the citizens of the Second Congressional District of Oklahoma for their continued support.  It has been an honor to represent each and every one of you in Congress for the past six years.  Since the founding of our country, only 12,000 men and women have been afforded the opportunity to serve in the United States House of Representatives, and it’s something that I will not take for granted as we begin the 112th Congress in January.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, members of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition announced that Representative Dan Boren of Oklahoma has been named Blue Dog Whip.  Boren will join Representatives John Barrow (D-GA), Mike Ross (D-AR) and Heath Shuler (D-NC) in leading the coalition’s efforts in the 112th Congress.

Every Veterans Day, Americans come together to remember those who have served our country in the name of freedom and democracy.  The debt that we owe to them is immeasurable.  And while we honor their sacrifices on this day, we must also view it as a renewal of our commitment to the nation’s 3 million troops and reservists, 23 million veterans, including the 78,647 veterans right here in the 2nd Congressional District of Oklahoma, and their families.
