Ehlers Resolution Honors Achievements of Aerospace Industry
National Aerospace Week to be recognized the third week of September

Washington, Jul 21 -     National Aerospace Week will be recognized the third week of September after a resolution introduced by Congressman Vernon J. Ehlers passed in the U.S. House today. The resolution, H.Con.Res. 292, supports the goals and ideals of creating National Aerospace Week.

“The Aerospace industry has played a key role in U.S. competitiveness with its many contributions to our nation’s economy, security, history, and education system,” said Congressman Ehlers, co-chairman of the House Aerospace Caucus. “Flying and space exploration remain powerful inspirations that captures the interest of young people, and I applaud the efforts by the aerospace community to get involved with kids and schools to nurture this interest and improve our science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programs.”

“The innovations in our aerospace industry have helped create the most complex and safest air travel system in the world,” added Ehlers. “I am pleased to see that the commercial aviation industry has begun to recover after the financial hit they have taken in recent years due to the recession.”
