SOCIAL SECURITY RETIREMENT
The Social Security Administration handles several important federal programs. Many contact me each month with questions about their retirement, Medicare, and their applications for disability benefits. For information on your Social Security retirement benefits, visit www.ssa.gov or call the Social Security help-line at 800-772-1213.  You can request a duplicate Social Security card, inquire about your benefit payment, schedule an appointment with your local Social Security Administration office, or ask any Social Security related question by calling this Social Security helpline.

STEPS IN REQUESTING HELP FROM CONGRESSMAN BUYER

• Confirm that you are a resident of Indiana's 4th Congressional District at Write Your Representative

• If you have determined that your problem is a federal matter, we can help!  Download a Privacy Release Consent Form. Thoroughly complete the form, including the blank lines that ask you to describe your problem (dates, agency name and what you want my office to do to resolve your problem.)  Feel  free to use the back of the form or attach a letter with the signed release form.

• Sign and date the form and mail or fax it to my Plainfield District Office at:

Congressman Steve Buyer
2680 East Main Street, Suite 332
Plainfield, Indiana  46168
317-838-0404
FAX 317-838-8964

A few of the most common questions my office receives that deal with this agency are:

How long does it take to process Social Security Disability claims?

What can the Congressman do to help with my Disability claim?

How can I get information about my Social Security retirement benefits?
