WELCOME MESSAGE FROM CO CHAIRS:
Dr. Phil Gingrey: As families across our nation face high and higher medical costs, Congress has a responsibility to look for ways to reform our health care system that will decrease costs and increase access to quality care. As providers, the Members of the GOP Doctors’ Caucus know firsthand the importance of the doctor-patient relationship and have a unique perspective on health care discussion. I look forward to bringing the ideas we discuss in the GOP Doctors Caucus to the House leadership as well as the Health Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee. We all recognize that we cannot achieve true health care reform without consensus among patients, physicians, Republicans, and Democrats. The GOP Doctors Caucus will be on the frontlines in helping to craft health care solutions that offer high quality, affordable coverage within our free market system.
Dr. Tim Murphy: Congress needs to institute fundamental changes to bring our nation’s healthcare system into the 21st Century. Reform means so much more than paying bills, it’s about delivering quality care at the best price. It’s about fixing, rather than financing a broken system. I look forward to working with my fellow doctors in Congress to focus on how to improve the delivery and quality of care for patients. As we move toward healthcare reforms, each member of the GOP Doctors Caucus will rely on their personal medical experiences to put forth meaningful and realistic policies.
