Wilmington | October 29, 2010 - “I express my deepest sympathy to the Soles family and the entire Delaware political community with the passing of Jim Soles.  As dean of the political commentators in Delaware and highly valued and accomplished professor of Political Science at the University of Delaware, he was deeply respected by everyone involved in government.  I came to know him years ago and always admired his careful and thoughtful comments on the political climate in Delaware.  He was a gifted professor who referred many students to me after they expressed interest in working in government or campaigns.  Regardless of their party affiliation, he always had the best interest of his students in mind.  I will deeply miss his friendship, his words of wisdom, and the twinkle in his eye or spark in his voice when he was discussing the things he loved most – his family, students, and politics.”
