In the 111th Congress, I have once again been selected to serve on committees important to Pennsylvania. The two committees I would like to highlight my service on are the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Armed Services Committee. The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee oversees our nation's highways, airports, bridges, railroads, dams and ports. This Congress, I have the honor of serving as the Ranking Republican on the Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee which has jurisdiction over all aspects of our rail system including Amtrak.
I am honored to continue to be able to serve as a member of the Armed Services Committee. This critical committee's primary responsibility is the protection of the American people, and it has jurisdiction over matters relating to the modernization of the military and national security. I will be serving on the Subcommittee on Terrorism and Unconventional Threats Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Readiness, which has a direct impact on our nation's depot systems, like the Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County.
