Price Statement on September Unemployment Report
Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement after the September unemployment rate was reported at 9.6% with the loss of 95,000 jobs.
“It is not hard to see why unemployment remains painfully high,” said Congressman Price. “Job creators lack the confidence to take on the risk of hiring because Washington insists on raising their taxes, increasing their costs, and piling up mountains of debt. The Democrats’ hugely expensive Keynesian experiment has been a total failure. The longer we wait to change course, and the longer Washington lets the uncertainty about tax rates hang in the air, the longer it will take to begin a sustainable recovery. Government spending is no substitute for private enterprise. Cutting spending, keeping taxes low, and lifting costly burdens like the Form 1099 mandate would go a long way to getting job creators back into action. Americans need jobs, and Washington needs to stop standing in the way of recovery.”
