Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to Elena Kagan’s confirmation as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

“While American families are focused on our struggling economy and high unemployment in the wake of the Democrats’ failed liberal policies, all Americans should recognize this event’s importance” said Congressman Price. “There have been legitimate questions raised about Justice Kagan’s record and concerns over whether she would abide by a code of impartiality in her role on the court. And as we have recently seen in regard to the debate over gay marriage in California, an activist judicial philosophy runs counter to the unique and vital nature of our judicial system as a fair and blind arbiter. It is important that in her new role Justice Kagan abandon any previous inclinations to act as an advocate on behalf of a favored cause or constituency.”
