Sauget, IL - On Monday, October 31, 2005, U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) participated in ground breaking ceremonies for a new air traffic control tower located at St. Louis Downtown Airport.
Costello, along with FAA and airport officials, made remarks and officially broke ground on the new state-of-the-art tower facility to be constructed at the airport. Costello helped secure funds for the new tower's construction. He is the ranking member on the U.S. House Aviation Subcommittee.
The groundbreaking was held just adjacent to the old air traffic control tower located at St. Louis Downtown Airport.
