SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY AT CARBONDALE RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Region V Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, has been awarded a $551,000 Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program grant through the U.S. Department of Education. The funds cover the first year of an anticipated five-year grant and will be used to support training centers that will provide activities which will focus on meeting the training needs of rehabilitation services staff in the area.
"The services that SIUC provides offers support programs for people with specialized needs. These programs allow them to live more fulfilling lives," said Costello. "I will continue to support efforts to make these services available, particularly in rural areas."
