ALTON FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FIREFIGHTERS GRANT
Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Alton Fire Department has received a $42,242 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for fire prevention. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
"Providing our first responders the resources they need to do their jobs improves safety locally as well as nationally," said Costello. "Our communities and our firefighters deserve no less."
