Belleville, IL - A World War II veteran from Belleville, Illinois was honored by receiving his military medals on Monday, June 13, 2005 from U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL). Congressman Costello presented the medals to Frank J. Fabre at a ceremony held in Congressman Costello's District Office in Belleville, Illinois.
Mr. Fabre served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He participated in action at Luzon, the Philippines and western Pacific Campaigns.
Congressman Costello awarded Mr. Fabre the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with Bronze Star attachment, the World War II Victory medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the Honorable Service Lapel Button and Expert Badge and Rifle bar.
Mr. Fabre contacted Congressman Costello's office asking for his assistance in securing his medals. The Congressman's Belleville District office is located at 155 Lincoln Place Court in Belleville, Illinois.
