OLIN CORPORATION RECEIVES ARMY CONTRACT
Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Olin Corporation, Winchester Division, located in East Alton, has been awarded a $7,468,992.13 contract modification by the U.S. Army. The contract is for the procurement of 169,000 caliber .50 sabot light armor penetrator (M903), sabot light armor penetrator tracer (M962) cartridges in a four to one linked configuration, and 586,080 caliber .50 sabot light armor penetrator tracer (M962) bulk. Over half of the work will be performed in East Alton.
"This is a great example of a local company making a significant contribution to our national security," said Costello. "I will continue to work to make sure that our troops have the resources they need."
