SIUC RECEIVES U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION GRANT
Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University at Carbondale has been awarded a $150,000 Rehabilitation Long-Term Training-Counseling Program Grant through the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will support the SIUC Rehabilitation Counselor Training program.
SIUC's Rehabilitation Counselor Program is ranked third by US News and World Report and is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary this year, making it one of the oldest training programs in the country.
"These funds will support the operations and development of an important program at the University" said Costello. "I will continue to support these types of funding opportunities to further expand educational opportunities in the region."
