Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection

The Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection is chaired by Rep. Bobby L. Rush.

U. S. Rep. Bobby L. Rush (1st – IL) has served as an active member of and leader on the Energy and Commerce Committee since 1995. Since his appointment as Chairman of the Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee in the 110th Congress, Rush successfully led a national, bipartisan effort to enact the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, a law that provides increased consumer protections and greater resources for the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Re-appointed by his peers in the 111th Congress, Rush’s priorities include vigorous oversight of the implementation of CPSIA as well as a focus on a range of issues of importance to low- and moderate-income consumers ranging from enhancing opportunities within expanded international markets to challenging predatory lending and credit practices that harm hard working families.
