Facing a slow economy and competition from India and China, Mike's manufacturing business has struggled to survive. Mike has even personally guaranteed the company's debt, putting everything he owns on the line.
Despite adversity, Mike has begun to hire new workers and recover. The only way he and the dozens of his employees have managed to stay afloat is by investing in capital that makes them more productive. But uncertainty from Washington and an ever-consuming tax structure is making it increasingly difficult to grow...
Watch Mike's inspiring story now.

http://bankruptin... -- putting the public on notice, one story at a time...
. . . . . . . . . .
Sixteen years ago, Barb started Black Eyed Susan -- her store of hard-to-find garden and home accessories -- to fulfill her passion, to have a positive impact on a community, and to enjoy a lifestyle of freedom.
Today, Barb may close the doors on what she loves to do.
In an already difficult environment for small business, government-augmented uncertainty threatens to raise the cost of Barb's retail business to unbearable levels.
Specifically, the little-known 1099 provision in the healthcare reform bill would burden her so that much she might stop doing business.
As Barb says in the video, "I hope when I close the doors to this store...it's because I decided it's just time to move on...not because I felt like my hand was forced."
Barb's story is Part 2 of our documentary series "The Story of Business," a joint project of Public Notice and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council.
Be sure to check out Part 1, "Moving forward in uncertain times," a story about a limestone crushing business's future amidst the possibility of rising costs and ever-changing rules. Watch here: http://bit.ly/f1z909

The Story of Business: http://bankruptin... (sponsored by Public Notice and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council) ------------------ "I risk my livelihood...I don't know what greater risk I could be taking," says Wes Garner, owner of Great Lakes Calcium, a small business in Green Bay, Wisconsin that makes the compound in Tums.
Wes is an entrepreneur, and he's invested his life into his business. He does it because he loves to create, innovate, and provide the foundation for himself and his employees to make a good living.
But Wes is worried. Uncertainty is one of the most damaging hurdles a business can face. And Wes doesn't understand why government is making things unnecessarily uncertain and complex for his business.
Wes's story is the first video of our series "The Story of Business" -- a joint project between us and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council. Stay tuned for more... ------------------ Check out a more comedic take "Wait and See": http://bit.ly/cFRAqu

Though this video is a joke, it's message is not. Washington's rhetoric and policies have been creating a damaging environment of uncertainty for businesses. Is it the American people? Not!
Or is it special interest groups and corporations with anti-American agendas.
I'm sure the best interest of this country are not well served by soulless corporations and extremely rich contributors corrupting the nation's political dialogue.
